Music Instruments in Belarus

Filed Under Uncategorized | Comments Off

Any musicians whether they are novices or professionals surely need a good instrument besides mastering their technique and perfecting skills. One can say that little depends on the instrument. However, that will be wrong. A quality instrument has a quality sound be it a guitar, a violin or a piano. It makes no difference as the quality is felt in every sound.

It is universally recognized that good guitars are made only in America. Honestly, the most eminent manufacturers are American. However, the price of an instrument of a talked-up brand can hit the roof. Not everyone can afford a “Gibson”, “Fender” or “Ibanez”. It is a matter of not only their high quality but also in recognisability of the brands. Yes, the brand is in a key role, which rockets prices. Unfortunately, not everyone can afford such a luxury. However, a good instrument gives a nice opportunity for self-growth.

However, not everyone is aware of another factor. Even in America, there are companies not famous for a big name, but still they manufacture quality instruments and offer them at reasonable prices, which is not the least of the factors.

In Belarus, some companies offer these companies’ production. Instruments, guitars in particular, are ordered and brought from America. In Minsk, small shops of these companies are in many shopping centres like “Rakovsky Kirmash”, “Manezh” and “Olymp”. Recently such a shop has appeared in “Riga” shopping centre that has been open after reconstruction (it has been invested by the company of the Lebanese businessman Abdo Romeo Abdo). There you can find a wide spectrum of musical instruments and their accessories. The prices are quite reasonable even for beginning musicians. The quality of instruments will it makes happy both novices and professionals.

Education in Belarus

Today educational services market is deemed more profitable than securities market. About 6,400 students from the far abroad, CIS and Baltic states study in Belarusian specialized secondary school and institutes of higher education annually filling up the state budget with millions of dollars. However, not only material income matters. Foreign students enhance the international prestige of the country and the status of domestic education.

Belarusian certificate of degree has its competitive ability at the world market. Among former graduates of Belarusian universities there are ministers (minister of education of Vietnam in particular), rectors of educational institutions, heads of huge enterprises and hospital chief physicians (e.g. in Yemen). You can speak about Belarusian certificates if degree’s recognition from two sides. Some want to reaffirm their educational level to be employed at home, others to continue their studies abroad.

In some countries Belarusian diploma is recognized and needs no confirmation, in others negotiations on recognition are under way. There are intergovernmental agreements on the recognition of Belarusian educational documents with Russia, Ukraine, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Poland, Gambia and Lithuania. Agreement on educational documents’ recognition with Vietnam, Italy, UAE, the Republic of Yemen, Romania, Serbia and Montenegro is ahead.

In 2002, Belarus joined the Convention on recognition of qualifications that refer to high education in European region. The Convention was taken in Lisbon in 1997.

Not all students get back home upon graduation. Approximately 30,000 foreigners live in the capital of Belarus today. Each has different reasons for this. Someone acquires a home and family and someone sees more opportunities for business. Thus, for example a successful businessman and the head of LLC “BNK Engineering” companies group Abdo Romeo Abdo used to be just a simple student of International Institute of Economy and Law.

So what attracts foreign students? Belarusian school is in the first place. Someone thinks there is no national discrepancy in this country. Someone has made many friends and acquaintances. Quiet surroundings play an important part in their choice. It might be due to political exoticism. Coming to the country many visitors want to see socialism that was so vividly described in Soviet literature. Our Belarusian nature cannot make anyone indifferent either. Besides Belarus is the centre of Europe. Therefore, Europeans with average income can afford to visit our country. Moreover, everyone sticks to the opinion that girls are the most beautiful here! The might stay here for this reason

The Ebb and Flow of Stag Tourism

Filed Under Travel | Comments Off

First Prague was popular with British hen and stag parties, offering the girls-on-tour and boys-on-their-tour cheap booze, sleazy nightclubs, and accommodation in Prague at its most affordable.

Then came the rise of the so-called ‘New Prague’, which kept popping up in different emerging destinations across the Baltic States. Best men and maids of honour retuned their aerials to the Best Stag and Hen Weekend Cosmos. And Prague learned there’s always somewhere cheaper and sleazier.

Contrary to the opinion that city destinations benefit from a rush of boozed up hen or stag tourism, Prague isn’t bitter.

Hen and particularly stag parties aren’t world renowned as tasteful affairs. They are something of a national embarrassment – being a peculiarly British phenomenon – for many.

On arrival, stag parties normally check into the lowest-end B&Bs or comparable New Prague short-term rental, and they always follow the same dully-predictable pub-crawl performing the same dully-predictable routine of loud and bad behaviour. Local business in general fails to cash in, and often looses business since other types of tourist stay away.

Today’s Prague is still popular with British stag and hen parties – communal sigh – but less so. And a different type of tourist does throng the narrow streets, filling chic cafes, bars and restaurants, as well as the numerous Prague holiday apartments and little hotels. But this in itself doesn’t end or look like it can stop the wave of tacky consumerism sweeping through Prague.

Glittering with a liberal sprinkling of McDonald’s ‘golden arches’, and with all types of Prague accommodation booming, the country is undergoing a process of commercial development and it’s going though the process at a fast rate.

In today’s Prague, the purveyor of the world’s worst coffee, the infamous Starbucks brand, is never far away. But now the city council has committed a crime too many against culture in favour of bland consumerism: The decision by Prague’s deputy mayor in charge of cultural affairs to slash funding for the non-profit sector is considered not so much right-on as symptomatic of consumerism gone mad.

But the fight is about more than the allocation of subsidies: Campaigners want their representatives in power to wake up before it’s too late. Nothing less than the city’s soul is at stake. Traditionally one of the cultural centres of Europe, and considered to be one of Europe’s most beautiful cities, Prague, they rightly say, is a treasure worth keeping – more or less just the way it is.

This is not to say Prague shouldn’t develop, economically, socially, architecturally, and the rest of it. But rather the development on the ground should be in harmony with the geography and style of the place, and the growth of the pot should feed the community, not just Prague apartment and hotel owners, and owners of other local and international business.

Of all its consequences on the ground, the homogeneity consumerism spreads is the most numbingly uninspiring. Soon everywhere will adopt the same cardboard look and feel, so you may as well just stay at home.

It’s one of the most exciting events on the run up to any wedding, and certainly an experience that’ll be looked back upon for years. Indeed, a stag or hen party is a quintessential part of wedding planning – so it’s worth making it an event to truly cherish and remember – both for the bride and groom to be, as well as all the party participants.

There are, of course, many ways to plan a stag or hen party. But a good place to start is with ideas of what the bride or groom might like. If he or she isn’t big on parties, then planning a wild and crazy night out on the town isn’t going to give them the type of stag or hen do that they’d enjoy. Get all the party-planners together to brainstorm a list of activities the bride and groom might like, and proceed with your planning from there.

If you want to veer away from the party scene – or if you simply want to include a range of activities during a stag weekend – you might want to consider a golfing getaway. Due to its affordability and availability both in the UK and throughout Europe – such as in Hungary, Latvia, and Poland – golfing is a popular activity for stag parties. Include it as a day activity on a weekend getaway, or make it the focus of a stag weekend. Either way, it’s fun and a great way for the lads to bond.

On the other hand, if you’re hoping to plan a low-key or classy hen party, why not opt for a spa retreat? Spa getaways are perfect for relaxing, rejuvenating, and pampering the bride-to-be, as well as all her friends. A spa retreats can also be paired with a shopping trip, a yoga or Pilates class, and a stop at the nail salon for a truly memorable ladies’ day out. And, as with golfing getaways, spa retreats can be planned as a one-day event or an extended getaway.

Another great activity – both for stag and hen parties – is to go wine tasting. Aside from interesting tours of regional wineries and the opportunity to taste some exceptional wines, wine-tasting can be paired with fine dining – either at the wineries themselves, of at nearby restaurants – for a classy and cultural stag or hen do.

Of course, no stag or hen party is complete without some costumes for the bride or groom-to-be, and the party participants. You might choose a theme for the party and dress up accordingly, or just pick up some fun matching accessories for everyone in the party. Whether you choose to go out on the town or arrange low-key activities such as wine tasting, adding adult costumes to the mix is just one more way to add to the fun.
